Who is Laser?

Laser Construction Since 1984

The roots of Laser Construction go back to 1984 in a small town in southern Illinois. John Kimmel started a small business building and remodeling local homes. Doing business in a town with a population of only 4,000 he quickly realized the importance of customer service and satisfaction. In 1990 John decided to relocate to Dallas, Texas. Upon his meeting Heather Edgington, Kimmel's Home Improvements was born, providing commercial and residential framing and remodeling to the DFW metroplex. In 1996, the company was incorporated, and became Laser Construction, Inc. The name Laser was chosen for a reason. It represents our commitment to consistently providing quick, modern, and efficient service to our customers, while keeping our old fashioned values.

Our Philosophy is summed up by the following story:

A contractor of many years was known for the top quality of his homes. One day he announced his retirement. The builder who had used him many times over the years asked him to build just one more house. The builder claimed to have the pickiest customer in the world, and only this contractor could build the house just right. So the contractor agreed and started to build the house.

But, he was focused on his retirement and thought, “Well, if I just cut a little on pouring the slab,” and, “If I just cut the quality a little on the electrical.” His thoughts continued to get the better of him. “Well, if I just went a little cheaper on the plumbing in the walls, the homeowner will never see it, and I will retire with just a little more in my pocket.”

So that’s what he did. The house still looked beautiful on the outside. When it was done, the contractor went to the builder and said, “Your house is done. Now I’m retired.”

And the builder replied, “You have been so terrific over the years and I wanted to give you a gift for your retirement—so here are the keys to your new house.

We only build homes we would be happy to live in.
